What is AmideRepair™?
AmideRepair™ is ELVIS+ELVIN’s foundational barrier-lipid complex combining Ceramides NP, NS and NG with phytosterols and hydrogenated lecithin. Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate and dipropylene glycol help disperse and deliver the lipid components in cosmetic formulas. It is designed for everyday replenishment, softness and moisture-barrier support.
Why does AmideRepair™ contain three ceramide classes?
Ceramide NP, Ceramide NS and Ceramide NG have different molecular structures and help broaden the lipid profile beyond a single ceramide. Used topically, they supplement the surface lipid matrix of the stratum corneum and support smoother, more flexible-looking skin. The INCI list does not disclose their exact percentages or establish a skin-identical ratio.
What do phytosterols and hydrogenated lecithin contribute?
Phytosterols provide plant-derived sterol conditioning, while hydrogenated lecithin supplies phospholipid-rich material and helps organize the lipid phase. They complement the ceramides by supporting softness, cohesion and formula delivery. Together, they create a more complete conditioning system than ceramides used without supporting lipids.
Does AmideRepair™ permanently repair damaged skin?
It helps support the moisture barrier, replenish surface lipids and reduce the look and feel of dryness, roughness and flaking. “Repair” refers to cosmetic support for barrier appearance and function, not permanent reconstruction or treatment of eczema, dermatitis or another medical condition. Continued use is generally needed to maintain benefits.
Can it be used with retinoids, exfoliating acids or acne treatments?
A ceramide-focused moisturizer can complement routines containing potentially drying actives by supporting comfort and moisture retention. Introduce strong actives gradually, avoid combining too many irritating steps at once and follow the finished product directions. Persistent burning, cracking or inflammation should be evaluated by a qualified healthcare professional.
How quickly should AmideRepair™ show results?
Emollient softness and reduced tightness may be noticeable soon after application. More sustained improvement in roughness, comfort and moisture retention generally requires consistent use over days to weeks.
