What It Is

Perlite is a mineral formed when hydrated volcanic glass expands under heat. Cosmetic-grade perlite is processed into a fine, highly porous powder selected for absorbency and texture.

Unlike an active that changes a biological pathway, perlite functions physically within a formula. Its internal pores give it a large surface area that can take up excess oil and contribute to a lightweight feel.

What It Does

Perlite helps absorb excess sebum and moisture at the skin’s surface, reducing the appearance of unwanted shine. It can also improve the spread and dry-touch finish of creams, primers and complexion products.
