What is silica in skin care?
Silica is silicon dioxide processed into cosmetic-grade particles that can absorb oil, improve texture, and create a soft-focus visual effect.
Does silica dry out skin?
Oil-absorbing formulas may feel drying if overused, especially on already dry skin. The effect depends on silica grade, concentration, and the rest of the formula.
Does it reduce sebum production?
No. Silica mainly adsorbs oil already present at the surface; it does not permanently change sebaceous-gland activity.
Can silica make pores look smaller?
