Avocado Extract

Moisturizing, nourishing, soothing

Key Benefits

  • Supports skin conditioning
  • Helps comfort dry-looking skin
  • Provides botanical antioxidant support
  • Promotes a nourished appearance

How It Works

Avocado tissues contain phenolic compounds, sugars, amino-acid-related components, and other soluble constituents that can contribute antioxidant and conditioning effects when extracted. Peel-derived materials, for example, may be especially rich in phenolics.

An extract is chemically different from avocado oil and may provide little occlusion on its own. The solvent, plant part, standardization, and concentration determine whether its main role is antioxidant support, soothing, or general conditioning.

Avocado Extract FAQs

Common questions about this ingredient in skincare.

What is Avocado Extract?
It is a botanical extract from Persea gratissima fruit or other specified avocado tissue, containing soluble plant compounds used for conditioning.
Is Avocado Extract the same as Avocado Oil?
No. Extract and oil are produced differently and emphasize different compounds; avocado oil is primarily lipid-rich and emollient.
What does it do for skin?
It helps condition dry or dull-looking skin and adds botanical antioxidant support to a complete formula.
Is it moisturizing?
It can support a moisturized feel, but a water-soluble extract is generally less occlusive than avocado oil or a rich moisturizer.
Can sensitive skin use it?
Many people can, but botanical sensitivities are possible. Patch-test if you have reactive skin or a known avocado allergy.
Is it suitable for acne-prone skin?
An extract is typically lighter than avocado oil, but pore compatibility depends on the entire formulation.
