What is capryloyl glycine?
It is a lipoamino acid formed by attaching caprylic acid to glycine, giving the molecule both lipid- and water-compatible characteristics.
Is it an exfoliating acid?
No. Despite containing an acid-derived fatty chain, it is not an alpha- or beta-hydroxy acid and should not be expected to exfoliate like glycolic or salicylic acid.
Does it reduce sebum?
It is commonly formulated for oil-balancing support, but strong independent clinical evidence showing that capryloyl glycine alone reduces sebum is limited.
Can it treat acne?
